After successfully launching the AK100 and the AK120 models, we asked ourselves, “What is the ultimate sound quality?” After much consideration, we decided to move a step further with our goal, which is to deliver the sound “exactly as the artist had intended” for us to hear.
Moving from the AK100 to AK120, we decided to provide a Dual DAC setup to create better left and right channel separation with clearer sound quality.
We thought that the Dual DAC setup would be enough, but while developing the AK240, we felt the need to further improve sound quality in order to accurately reproduce the original sound recording.
After countless hours of research and testing, we were able to find the answer.
Be the ultimate, AK240

A New Standard
A new standard for listening to music was proposed while developing the AK100.
We recognized that certain aspects of the AK100 needed improvement during research and development for a successor.
While considering how to improve the AK100, we realized that there was a difference between measured audio specifications and what we felt sounded good.
After much deliberation, our development efforts were focused on making the AK100 2nd Generation "feel" right to our senses rather than mechanically boosting technical specs.
We present "A New Standard in Listening to Music" with the AK100 2nd Generation.

Thin and Light
The AK Jr project gives everyone the opportunity to comfortably listen to high resolution audio, anytime and anywhere.
Although the Astell&Kern was a portable device, its relatively large size made it less convenient for some.
The AK Jr’s compact design delivers the highest sound quality while fitting comfortably in your pocket.
The AK Jr is like carrying a small concert in your pocket.
More Expandable Options
The AK380 offers great expandable options through its micro USB connection and balanced out ports on the bottom of the unit.
The AK380's functionality is expandable by connecting to a variety of devices. You can increase the output and connect to a greater variety of high-impedance professional headphones through the upcoming AK380 Amp. The AK380 Cradle features balanced output in addition to USB data transfer and charging capabilities, and the AK380 CD-ROM drive rips audio CDs directly to the AK380.
When Music Becomes More Than Just Sound
Copper, as an alloy with tin, nickel, or zinc, is used as a raw material for wind instruments, which form the central part of an orchestra. These wind instruments transmit deep and heavy sounds through tubes of copper alloys.
Sound with a sense of depth
Sound with a sense of weight
Sound with a greater balance
In addition, copper is the second most electrically conductive1 metal after silver. With superior electrical conductivity and shielding performance than typical metals, the AK380 Copper is able to deliver a different sound signature than the existing duralumin-based AK380.
Design Concept
The light and the object are the main theme of the AK380 design. Any shadow of an object portraits the exact shape from the perspective of the light at that moment. The way of reproducing the true sound of music from digital formats is quite similar. Nothing more or nothing less. The design motif of the AK380 reflects our philosophy of music and sound.
Hence, the “light” and the “shadows” became the inspiration of the AK380.
The AK380’s design was inspired by “light” and “shadow”.
While the design of the AK240 captured as a moment in time of light and shadow, the AK380 is designed to express the change of time with more angles on its body. You will notice the different angles of surface design as you view the AK380.
We believe that the beauty of the design shall reflect what the AK380 can do with music. As different angles of light casts different shadows, different music will give you a variety of emotions.

The AK300 is the embodiment of purity and timelessness of music.
Its design was inspired by the AK380, our flagship portable music player, continuing the "light and shadow" motif found in the entire Astell&Kern product line.
The AK240 captured a moment in time at which light had ceased to move, while the AK380 expressed the perpetuity of moving light.
Now, the AK300 represents the purity of a shadow as it reflects no light.
The essence of a shadow without being split by light was captured in a restrained yet immaculate shape, and this exemplifies the purity of the original studio sound that only Astell&Kern can deliver.
The volume knob was placed in the back to make it protrude so that it would be easier for the user to control with one hand.
The front side of the knob is shaped like the wavelength of the sound, which is a representation of the melody and beauty of Astell&Kern that allows the user to catch smallest vibration between sounds. The knurling patterns on the knob's side succeeds the design identity of Astell&Kern audio products while offering high-end feel and smooth usability.
Enjoy The Sound, AK300

The AK320's design is in line with the 'light and shadow' motif found in Astell&Kern's product line.
Powerful sunlight casts crisp yet understated shadows.
The front, rear, and sides form an asymmetrical shape, but the AK320's body exudes an understated impression.
The volume knob projects out of the back for easy one-handed operation, and the detail in the precision machining adds a sense of luxuriousness found only in the AK320.
The rear is finished with glass featuring Astell&Kern's unique pattern for that signature Astell&Kern personality and elegant design identity. The AK320's design is the epitome of understated beauty

One player to rule them all
Astell&Kern's KANN provides a new power standard for mobile music performance. Combining a high-quality audio player and a high-performance amplifier, KANN draws on the technological expertise of Astell&Kern, the leading Portable Hi-Fi Audio manufacturer.
Truly powerful, high-quality output
Astell&Kern has introduced a new product design that cleverly incorporates a high-performance amplifier into a player for a perfect merger of two independent devices. Supporting the output of 7Vrms when connected via high-gain balanced output, the KANN not only drives high-impedance headphones without an additional amplifier, but also reliably reproduces high-quality sound with low-impedance speakers.
